Jag är helt slut efter kvällens invigning och firande på Slottstorget. Tack alla ni artister som uppträdde, det var både stämningsfullt och svängigt! Jag hade svårt att stå still vissa gånger för att det svängde så bra! Och Rickard Olsson, kvällens konferencier, gjorde ett enastående jobb. Jag blev dock lite ställd när han sa att det "redan ryker om bocken" - han måste ha sett i syne!Tack alla ni som trotsade vädret och kom för att fira med mig. Det har nämligen spöregnat i Gävle ikväll. Regn på invigningen, det var länge sen. Regnet tilltog extra mycket under det vackra fyrverkeriet som avslutade invigningen. Som ni vet är jag ju inget stort fan av eld, fyrverkerier, pyroteknik och liknande, jag är därför alltid lite kluven inför invigningsfyrverkeriet. Men i år var det vackrare än någonsin!
I am totally exhausted after tonight's inauguration and the celebrations at Castle Square. Thanks to all artists who performed, it was both atmospheric and groovy! I found it hard to stand still at times because it was so groovy. And Rickard Olsson, the compere, did an outstanding job. But I got a bit worried when he said that I was "smoking hot", I´m not sure I liked that.Thanks to everyone who came to the inauguration despite the weather. It has been pouring rain in Gävle tonight. Rain at the inauguration, that was long ago. The raining increased during the beautiful fireworks that ended the inauguration. As you know, I'm not a big fan of flames, fireworks, pyrotechnics and such, I am always a little ambivalent about the fireworks at the inauguration. But this year it was more beautiful than ever!
Now I'll just stand here tonight and feel happy. And I´ll be dreaming of a white Christmas in Gävle!
For next year, please could we have a live feed with sound, even if it was just for the inauguration? I'm sure that there are many who would watch from across the world...perhaps we could have some pictures from this year's event also? One day, my wife and I will visit Gävle at Christmas but until that time...

I watched some of the ceremonies today, but everyone was on the other side of you so I couldn't see much except you standing there so proud. Mr. Olsson was not nice to say you were "smoking hot." Maybe he meant well, but he could have used different words so as not to upset you! So glad that it all went well and now you can relax and enjoy all the rest of the Christmas season. Maybe you will get snow in Gavle soon.
